Hailing from Brazil, Lucas has been designing masterpieces for over 14 years.

What programme or software can you not live without?

I have a love/hate relationship with Adobe InDesign.

Who or what inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

I was a quite creative child and I liked to draw a lot but instead of being an artist I sold my soul to make money, which didn’t work, oh well \_(ツ)_/.

How do you prefer to start your day?

If I could, I would just stay asleep. Really. But I start my day with a cup of coffee (pour-over, black, no sugar) and then hitting the gym (that is, whenever a global pandemic doesn’t get in the way).

Describe your role at Originate in 5 words.

I make information look pretty.

Where were you born?

Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil.

What’s your favourite movie?

A Clockwork Orange (to sound cool and cult) but really The Lord of the Rings, because nerd.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

Don’t (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!). Know your own shortcomings but don’t let them get in your way.

Understand that everyone will, at some point, feel like an impostor.

Are you right or left-handed?

I wish I was a lefty.

I wouldn’t dare, my Italian ancestors would come haunt my dreams (◟ᅇ)◜

What skill do you think everyone should learn?

In life, empathy. Professionally, coding.

What was your first job?

Marketing Department intern at a newspaper, filing paper and sending invoices via fax (yes, I’m that old), all very glamorous.

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

Alive? Neil deGrasse Tyson.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you?

I used to be in the middle of mosh pit at heavy metal concerts. I can’t anymore, I’d break my hip.
